Students Who SOAR is a comprehensive and step-by-step program for creating a classroom environment in which effective classroom management can be maintained throughout the school year.

The program is unique because it emphasizes the need to recognize and teach all students to meet appropriate expectations rather than extensively focusing on undesired student behavior in the classroom. The program also encourages teachers to not just be satisfied with student compliance in the classroom, but to teach all students to reach new levels of excellence and learn how to SOAR by following four expectations in the classroom If there are students who need additional support to meet classroom expectations, the program covers what to do to help those students learn to SOAR as well.

Students Who SOAR was developed over 30 years of experience in elementary and junior high school classrooms and teacher education, extensive research on the principles of effective classroom management, and a 4-year trial period in an elementary school classroom.

The entire program, including the Students Who SOAR book and a file with 16-pages of Reproducible documents for your classroom can be reviewed and purchased on Teachers Pay Teachers. You can also click on the thumbnail box or link below to be taken directly to the Teachers Pay Teachers website.

Want to bring the Students Who SOAR program to your school or school district?

A complementary program, Kids Who SOAR, was developed in hopes that parents and guardians might be able to strengthen the principles of the Students Who SOAR program by adopting the same behavior expectations and using some of the same language and reinforcement systems at home with their own children. This provides consistency between home and school and allows teachers and parents and guardians to work together to recognize and encourage positive behaviors in both environments.
